Security Is Layers, Not Just a Fence
A fence marks a boundary — but a determined trespasser climbs it. For high-value sites with expensive tools and equipment, you want layers.
Start with the right height
6-foot panels are the construction standard; 8-foot is the move for high-value or long-term sites. (Not sure which? Our fence height guide breaks it down.)
Add anti-climb deterrence
Top-mounted anti-climb spikes make panels far harder to scale and send a clear "don't bother" signal. They're an inexpensive add-on relative to the cost of a single stolen generator or skid-steer.
Control sightlines and access
- [Privacy/debris screening](/equipment/privacy-screening) hides what's on site — you can't steal what you can't see — and controls dust in residential areas
- Lockable gates (we run 10-foot double-swing vehicle gates) control who gets in and out, instead of leaving a gap anyone can walk through
Put it together
A typical secure setup: 6' or 8' panels on heavy-duty bases, screening on the street-facing runs, anti-climb spikes on accessible sides, and a lockable gate at the access point.
